Why join a model railroad club? Model railroading's popularity is on a rebound. The hobby encompasses model building, painting and detailing, landscaping, electronics and other areas of expertise. No one person could be expected to know all of these areas well, so joining a club is a great way to draw on the talents of many people. We are always helping each other learn new tips and techniques in the hobby and our displays are a great place to test your newfound abilities.
   Very few people have the time, space, money, patients and knowledge required to build a really grand model railroad in their home. One of the obvious advantages to club membership is the size of the layout to which you have direct access.
   There are many levels of participation as in any volunteer organization. You can do anything from running trains, to work on club modules, to building your own piece of the SRV.
